The who, what, why, and WTF behind the It.

Black and white ink illustration of a gritty, chaotic workspace. An open planner labeled “Deadlines & Dark Lines” sits beside a crumpled note that reads “Laid Off and Lost It,” a coffee mug that says “Crafting Darkness in the Land of Light Beer,” a burning cigarette in an ashtray, a cracked crystal ball, a vintage microphone, scribbled budget notes marked “Coffins,” and scattered cat paw prints across a stained, textured desk.

Midwest born.

Raised on sarcasm.

Fueled by caffeine, Nicotine, and too many true crime podcasts.

I’m a single mom who got laid off and decided it was time to stop waiting and start making the damn thing I always wanted: a business built on creativity, darkness, and a little rebellion.

Midwest & Making It is my home for gothic printables, chaotic rants, and unapologetic vibes — because not everything needs to be beige and blessed. I like black. I like bats. I like when things get a little weird.

I cuss too much, drink when I’m stressed, smoke when I shouldn’t, and make stuff that people like me actually want to use. If that’s you? You’re in the right place.

Our mission

Midwest & Making It is where dark design meets real-life chaos. From printables to personal rants, budget trackers to true crime spirals, we create tools, stories, and snark for anyone trying to make It — on their own terms, in their own way.

Making it. Ranting it. Writing it. Want in on it?
